A MAD day!

This morning we popped down to Platts garage in Wycombe to have a look at Hyundai minis and came away having bought one!

Ours is an i20 Active in white and will be with us soon after Christmas.

Then this afternoon we went over to Whytham Woods near Oxford, to join in a new Forest Church group run by some friends of Mum (well it wasn't going to be friends of Dad, was it?!)

The theme was 'welcoming the dark' and it was, quite literally, a very cool experience, though it ended up slightly warmer, with hot chocolate around a blazing fire. Definitely different!

Back home, we're enjoying our own fire - so is Molly!

Bike trouble

We did some great cooking at the weekend, trying out recipes for Christmas. This was a winner - strawberry and peanut crunch pie:

Dad has had a spot of bother with his bike and had to replace the rear wheel gear block. Unfortunately it didn't work properly and he didn't have the right tools to fix it so it's gone to the local bike mechanic tonight...

Grandma's 85th

Grandma's birthday was on Sunday, of course, and we had a great party at Conifers:

.Grandma made a Cup of Tea (I love Grandma!)

 There was cake

...and Grandad

...and a few ruffians

Saturday 2 Nov

We had a fallen tree smash our shed in the storm last Monday, but it was all cleared today - took 3 men with chainsaws most of the day to do it. The tree wasn't ours and the neighbours' insurance will pay for a new shed. Worse things happen at sea...

Was there meant to be a tree in that shed?!

it was odd to touch the top branch of the tree!
